VACCINATION

Vaccination is one of the most important ways to protect your pet from serious diseases. At Maple City Animal Hospital, we offer a comprehensive vaccination program to keep your pet safe, healthy, and happy. Led by Dr. Angela Bell and Dr. Michael Fife, our team tailors vaccine schedules based on your pet's age, lifestyle, and health status. We recommend annual examinations to assess your pet's health and risks.

CORE VACCINES FOR DOGS

RABIES:
Required by law in many areas, the rabies vaccine protects your pet from this deadly virus that can affect both pets and humans.

DISTEMPER:
A highly contagious viral disease that affects a dog's respiratory, gastrointestinal, and nervous systems. This vaccine is essential for protecting your pet.

PARVOVIRUS:
A severe, often fatal viral infection that attacks the gastrointestinal system. Puppies and unvaccinated dogs are especially vulnerable to this virus.

CORE VACCINES FOR CATS

RABIES:

As with dogs, the rabies vaccine is critical for protecting both your cat and your family from this fatal virus.

FELINE DISTEMPER (PANLEUKOPENIA):

A highly contagious virus that can lead to severe gastrointestinal and immune system issues, often fatal if not treated early.

NON-CORE VACCINES

(BASED ON RISK FACTORS AND LIFESTYLE)

LEPTOSPIROSIS (FOR DOGS):

A bacterial disease that affects the liver and kidneys, particularly in dogs that spend a lot of time outdoors or near water sources.

LYME DISEASE (FOR DOGS):

A tick-borne disease that can cause joint issues and other health problems. Recommended for dogs at risk of tick exposure.

BORDETELLA (KENNEL COUGH):

Recommended for dogs that are boarded, groomed, or regularly interact with other dogs in public settings.

FELINE LEUKEMIA (FELV):

Recommended for outdoor cats or those exposed to other cats, as it weakens the immune system and increases the risk of infections and cancers.
